Arizona

There are so many options for outdoor adventure everywhere in this area. The landscape is so spectacular and there are views and vistas along every path and drive. The area is also a spiritual hub. It has energy vortex’s and has a high vibration. The wild west is a perfect playground for families.  The hardest part of this trip was how to limit this trip to 6 days.

Day 1 Sedona Checked in at Sky Ranch Lodge and headed out to our first hike of the trip Devil’s Bridge. A great way to get grounded after traveling and breathe the warm dry air of the west. It was stunning, the drive over the rocky roads and the beautiful vistas were breathtaking. We celebrated with family back bend at the top of the hike and a rainbow on our way down. It was the perfect length and challenge for 6 year old Jack up to 19 year old Sadie. After dinner headed back to the hotel and played frisbee in the parking lot and watched the sun set over the mountains.

Day 2 Sedona We kicked off with another killer hike at Bell Rock early in the morning before the sun got too hot. The next morning we couldn’t leave without stopping in to get a reading from one of the many psychics in the area. We made time to squeeze in another hike this time to the top of Cathedral Rock . It was steep at the end but we stopped and took lots of photos along the way.

Day 3 Monument Valley and stayed at Goulding Lodge. The stars at night. The full moon. Dangerous pictures in the middle of  the highway.

Day 4 Antelope and Bryce Canyon On our way to Bryce Canyon we stopped at Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend for a few small hikes. You need to hire a guide to go into Antelope Canyon. That night we stayed at the Bryce Canyon Lodge in the park which was perfect for our family. We brought a blowup mattress as it was hard to get 2 rooms so we could all stay in one room. The loop in Bryce is one of the most spectacular and accessible family hikes I have ever done.

Day 5 Phoenix Checked in to the Hyatt in Scottsdale and spent the evening in the pools after a very long drive back. Everyone had cleared out to dinner and we had the enormous pools to ourselves.
